We are honored to partner with the Mother African Union Church, the oldest incorporated African American church founded by people of African descent in the United States. Rooted in the powerful legacy of Peter Spencer and the Union Church of Africans, this historic Wilmington congregation stands as a symbol of freedom, resilience, and spiritual leadership.
Since its founding in 1813, the church has remained a beacon for justice, health, and liberation — playing a critical role in the Underground Railroad and the ongoing celebration of Black heritage through the enduring August Quarterly Festival. Today, Mother African Union Church continues to honor its heritage by uplifting spiritual, cultural, and physical well-being in the community.
Through this faith partnership, we proudly walk alongside a congregation whose mission has always centered on freedom, wholeness, and healing.
